Galen grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta and began taking acting classes with the Alliance Theatre and Atlanta Workshop Players while she was still in elementary school. She moved to St. Louis for college and graduated from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University with a BFA in Musical Theatre  - and a history minor.

After college, she returned to Atlanta. She appeared in shows at the Alliance Theatre,  Aurora Theatre,  Atlanta Shakespeare Company, Actors Express, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Georgia Shakespeare, and Theatre in the Square. She traveled throughout the Southeast, performing at Flat Rock Playhouse, Nashville Repertory Theatre, and the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

She appeared in the film What's The Matter With Gerald?, as well as episodes of The Carbonaro Effect and Disney+'s Encore (in an incredible coincidence, she was cast in the professional ensemble supporting the alumni cast of Oklahoma! at her very own high school, Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia). Galen has appeared in many commercials for brands such as Epson, Tik Tok, Zaxby's, Organic Valley, method, Seapak, Holiday Inn, and more.

She, her husband, and cat split their time between New York City and Atlanta for several years. They will be returning to Atlanta soon, once they're vaccinated against COVID-19. Well, not the cat.
